Tom is Director of CMC and principal specialist. He brings significant experience in developing, implementing and evaluating environmental policy for a broad range of partners and clients. With a foundation in physical sciences, Tom has spent over 20 years working in all aspects of environmental policy, planning and natural resource management - with particular expertise in coastal management, climate change adaptation and community engagement.
Up until early 2020 Tom was working on a PhD at the University of Sydney, investigating the social side of coastal risks. Just what exactly is an "acceptable" or "unacceptable" risk? And how do we decide? Who decides?
